Overview
RepriceLab offers three repricing strategies, each built around a different business objective. Understanding how each one works helps you choose the right rule for each product or product category in your catalog.
Win Buy Box
The Win Buy Box strategy is designed to maximize the percentage of time your listing owns the Buy Box. RepriceLab calculates the optimal price using a weighted algorithm that considers:
- The lowest competing FBA offer
- Your seller metrics (feedback score, dispatch time, fulfilment method)
- Amazon's Buy Box rotation patterns
- Your configured Buy Box adjustment (match, beat by amount, or beat by percent)
This strategy is best for: FBA sellers where Buy Box ownership directly drives sales volume, competitive categories with multiple FBA offers, and new sellers building sales history.
Important: This strategy will actively lower your price if needed to compete. Always set a minimum price to protect your margins.
Maximize Profit
The Maximize Profit strategy keeps your price as high as possible while still maintaining competitiveness. RepriceLab raises your price when:
- There are few or no competing offers
- You already own the Buy Box at a higher price
- Competitors leave the listing or go out of stock
When competition increases, RepriceLab will lower the price just enough to stay competitive — but never below your minimum price floor.
This strategy is best for: private label products, exclusive or low-competition ASINs, high-margin items where protecting profit is the priority, and sellers with stable Buy Box positions.
Boost Sales
The Boost Sales strategy prioritizes sales velocity over margin. RepriceLab prices aggressively — often at or near your minimum price — to maximize unit sales. It is the most price-competitive of the three strategies.
This strategy is best for: clearing overstock or slow-moving inventory, products approaching expiry (perishables, seasonal), building sales rank quickly on new ASINs, and liquidation scenarios.
Caution: Boost Sales can rapidly erode margins if used on products without a tight minimum price. Use it deliberately and with clear min/max boundaries.
Choosing between strategies
Most sellers use a combination of strategies across their catalog:
- Win Buy Box for standard FBA products with active competition
- Maximize Profit for exclusive, high-margin, or low-competition products
- Boost Sales only for targeted inventory management goals
You can create multiple rules in RepriceLab and assign different rules to different product groups. There is no limit to the number of rules you can create on Pro and Enterprise plans.
FBA vs FBM handling
Within any strategy, you can configure how RepriceLab treats FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) and FBM (Merchant Fulfilled) competitors separately. For example, you might want to ignore FBM sellers entirely or allow yourself to price $2 above FBM competitors since your FBA offer includes Prime shipping.
